Let's face it, between the patchouli-soaked Phish fans and crystal-gazing astrology addicts, dating in Asheville kinda sucks.
But, what if there was hope? Blind Date Live! has found a way to remove the tragic swiping of #applife and the sheer awkwardness of “meeting someone organically,” setting real Asheville singles up with people they might actually want to see again. Come see for yourself as you watch real people fall in love onstage — sight unseen. And if they don’t hit it off, hey, there are plenty of Phish in the sea.
Cayla Clark moved to Asheville 2 years ago and fell head over heels for its quirky, eclectic, and unparalleled character. Shortly after arriving, she swore off of the apps forever, and has had little luck meeting people organically, because everyone in their 30s is happily married, polyamorous, or irreparably damaged. Just kidding. We’re all works in progress. She lives alone in a mountain of tear-stained tissues with her dog Harley, her cat Snail, and her vibrator.
Donnie Rex hails from the dingle-donger of America (Florida), but will vehemently deny it if you ask him about it. He likes fermenting hot sauces, but not the kind that are too hot because at his core he is nothing more than a widdle baby. Donnie wonders what he did in a past life that caused him to be ginger in this one...also, now I'm going bald too? Why do you hate me, God?
Blind Date Live is back on April 26 at The Grey Eagle!
Tickets are $22/adv., $25/door and include entry to a 7pm pre-show mixer and after party hosted by DJ Lil Meow Meow. If you are on the prowl, feel free to show up looking foxy, but we won’t implement a dress code because that would be weird.
Doors/mixer at 7pm, show starts at 8pm.
